6 Females Who Won't Be Elected Due to Sexism

Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum will not be elected to public office because most people only see her as a supermodel, despite also being a successful businesswoman and television producer. Everyone forgets Gerald Ford was a male model! She will also not be elected because she's busy producing reality television and has no desire to run.

MY SISTER

My sister will never be elected as mayor of her sleepy Florida town because a large percentage of the voting populace "just can't see a woman in charge" and also because she is busy finishing her nursing degree so she can go on to become a midwife.

This Baby That Was Just Born

While many love the idea of a fresh-faced up-and-comer taking the helm on education, no one wants this female baby to be elected to any position on their local school board. While many young boys are automatically given positions of power based on genetics and being a male, this female baby will not be given any such role because she is a girl and she is more focused on learning how to latch onto her mother's breast.

Janice from Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem

While Janice is used to being the only female in the male-dominated field of music, many of her constituents refuse to even consider her as a candidate for Congress. While her intense "hippie-like" views may be more acceptable in someone like Bernie Sanders, no one wants to back a woman unless she is a hard centrist. Also, Janice is focused on finding "that groovy sound" and "being a Muppet and thus an inanimate object when her puppeteer is on break."

Barbara Boxer

Barbara Boxer might be considered "too old" to run for a seat as a United States Senator even though many male senators are in their seventies and even eighties! Yet, she will not be elected as United States Senator because many will call her "past her prime" and "focused on having already retired from a US Senate seat and creating new opportunities for women in the party."

Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa will not be elected as United States President because many people do not like the idea of a woman being in charge of the greatest democracy on Earth. While some may argue that Mother Teresa should not be elected because she "was not born in America," "was never even considering being elected in an American election," and "has said 'I am currently dead and unwilling to come back to Earth at this time,'" issues of deep-rooted sexism in American politics should also be considered.
